“上海市外语口译岗位资格证书培训与考试”诞生于 1995年，被确认为 20 世纪90 年代上海市紧缺人才培训工程重要项目之一。项目创立之初，在缓解改革开放初期国家外语翻译类人才紧缺的同时激发了社会公众学习外语的热情，“千军万马奔口译”的盛况历历在目。2009年该项目名称变更为 “上海外语口译证书考试”，2015 年起改由上海外国语大学主办。上海外语口译证书考试的命题、考试和评分始终秉持“科学合理、专业权威、客观公正”的宗旨，坚持严格的质量标准和严密的组织管理,赢得了广大口译学习者、考生和社会的高度认可和推崇，己成为我国外语教育领域规模大、认可度高的社会性外语能力考试项目之一上海外语口译证书被誉为求职的“白金证书”。上海外语口译证书考试在新中国外语教育史上必将留下浓墨重彩的一笔。

上海外国语大学是新中国外语教育的发祥地之一，是教育部直属并与上海市人民政府共建、进入国家“211工程”和“双一流”建设的全国重点大学。上海外语口译证书考试借助学校一流学科深厚的学术积淀和学科优势得以持续发展。项目专家组汇聚了一批在外语测试、口译教学、口译研究上卓有建树的专家和富有实战经验的译员，他们来自上海外国语大学、复旦大学、上海交通大学、同济大学、华东师范大学等高校。专家组全过程参与命题、审题、阅卷和质量监控，将严谨的治学态度、鲜活的教学经验、深入的理论研究融汇于测试的内容和方法之中，在考试的发展规划、资源开拓、质量控制上发挥了不可取代的作用，也在很大程度上推动了口译教学和测试范式的转变。

上海外语口译证书考试的命题、考试和评分始终秉持“科学合理、专业权威、客观公正”的宗旨，坚持严格的质量标准和严密的组织管理，赢得了广大口译学习者、考生和社会的高度认可和推崇，已成为我国外语教育领域规模大、认可度高的社会性外语能力考试项目之一，上海外语口译证书被誉为求职的“白金证书”。上海外语口译证书考试主办方还组织专家参加一些高校的学科发展和专业建设。2019年10月，该项目荣获上海市2019年“终身学习品牌项目”荣誉称号；11月，该项目再获全国2019年“终身学习品牌项目”。可谓双喜临门，实至名归。上海外语口译证书考试在新中国外语教育史上必将留下浓墨重彩的一笔。

“上海外语口译证书培训与考试系列丛书”作为考试的有机组成部分，是学习者自学、备考，培训机构开展培训必不可少的教材。2023年，丛书启动了新一轮的修订。“英语中级口译证书考试系列教程”属于该丛书，是一套完整、系统、科学、严谨的配套教材，共五册，包括《中级听力教程》《中级口语教程》《中级阅读教程》《中级翻译教程》和《中级口译教程》,既可作自学教材使用，又可作培训教材使用，历年来广受欢迎，部分教程多次获奖。“英语中级口译证书考试系列教程”与时俱进，推陈出新，经历多次改版调整。本轮修订中，编写组通力合作，精心打磨，历时多年，现推出第五版。第五版继承了前四版的特色与优势，遵循口译教学和测试规律，贯彻“分类指导，因材施教”的原则，更加强调专业技能、专业知识及相关领域知识的要素互补、有机结合，更加注重材料的质量、甄选和加工，更加突出对考试的指导。

新的时代，新的使命，新的作为。“英语中级口译证书考试系列教程”的修订必将使上海外语口译证书考试项目日臻完善，焕发出新的光彩，续写新的篇章，为培养更多高素质口译人才做出新的、更大的贡献!
