前言

“新标准高职公共英语系列教材”《精编实用视听说教程》根据教学实际情况、在广泛征集高职英语教师的意见和建议后编撰而成。

《精编实用视听说教程》包括上、下两册，上册选取学校和生活中常用的交际场景，下册选取工作中常用的交际场景。两册编写体例基本一致，每册教材均由八个单元组成，可供一个学期使用。

《精编实用视听说教程》遵循“实用为主、够用为度、以应用为目的”的教学原则，结合高职学生实际运用英语的情况和能力，把最基本和最常用的交际功能和情景通过多种形式的展示和操练，帮助高职学生掌握。根据听说结合、课内课外互补的教学原则，《精编实用视听说教程》下册每单元由四大部分组成：

第一部分(Part One)是“热身启动”(Starting Out),由数个情景或问题组成。其编写目的有二：一是帮助学生热身，营造气氛；二是让学生对即将收听或操练的语言内容有所期待。教师用书提供了一些教学上的建议和部分答案供教师参考。

第二部分(Part Two)是“课堂活动”(In-class Activities)。这是每个单元的教学重点，由三组听力材料和三组会话材料组成。这些语言素材篇幅短小，功能集中，以介绍英语习惯表达法为主，同时兼顾中国学生使用英语的实际情况，按照先听后说的顺序编排，以体现听、说结合的教学原则。三组听说材料互为补充，每组材料都提供一些相关功能或意念的语言素材和表达法。每篇听力材料后设计有听力练习题，题型包括是非题、选择题和问答题等。会话材料提供日常交际的常用句型、有指导性的句型操练、角色扮演(Role-play)等，以循序渐进的方式帮助学生提高口头表达能力。我们希望教师能在学生进行听力训练之前，充分调动学生的积极性，引导学生根据教材中提供的线索，如词汇表、注释以及练习题中出现的文字等，对所听内容进行预测。我们还建议对每组中的会话材料按先听、后看、再说的顺序进行，以加强对学生的听力训练。

第三部分(Part Three)为“看看学学”(Watch and Learn)。这些视频资料基本都是围绕每单元所操练的交际功能，主要是给学生课后自学自练，以激发学生的兴趣和信心。如果学生的英语程度比较好，或者授课教师希望对课堂教学内容进行一些增补或变动，这些视频材料也可供教师在课内选用。

第四部分(Part Four)是“课外活动”(After-class Activities)。这部分的目的一方面是测试学生对本单元所学内容的掌握，另一方面是帮助学生备考“高等学校英语应用能力考试”。

上册中这部分的题型和题量与“高等学校英语应用能力考试”B级听力部分一致，下册与A级听力部分一致。该部分的内容主要是给学生课外练习。

虽然教师用书配备了补充注释、参考答案、生词语的例句和必要讲解，以方便教师备课，但编者还是希望教师在使用教师用书时能根据各自的具体教学目标和要求，特别是根据各自的教学对象和教学进程，对教学内容作适当的选择、补充或删减；同时也希望教师能把使用该教材后的意见和建议反馈给编者，以便作进一步的修改。在此致谢!
