“新世纪大学英语系列教材”是我国普通高等教育“十一五”国家级规划教材，是根据教育部高等教育司颁发的《大学英语课程教学要求》编写的。《视听说教程》是系列教材中的一个分册，配合《综合教程》和系列教材中的其他教程，引导学习者实现《大学英语课程教学要求》所规定的教学目标。
本册为第六册，是《视听说教程》前五册的后续课程。
    全书构成如下：
    每个单元分为 Lesson A 和 Lesson B，上课两周，每周一课。
Lesson A 有四节，每一节有若干课堂交际活动，分别用 A、B、C……表示。1. Vocabulary Focus

Lesson B  是录像片段
    这一部分完全采用授权的电视节目，围绕本单元同一题材展开，每一节目时间不长，一般在五分钟以内， Lesson B也有四节。
